Carlin (& Goldstrike) gold mine
Report summary
This analysis comprises of production from the Goldstrike and Carlin operations in Nevada now held by the Nevada Gold Mines joint venture owned by Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont (38.5%). Operations at the Carlin complex consist of four underground and four open pit mines. Ore from these is processed at either Goldstrike's roaster or autoclave, Mill 6 (higher grade refractory ores), or by conventional differential flotation milling and cyanide leaching for lower grade ore at Mill 5. Also, a portion of the lower grade material is heap leached. Mine life is currently estimated to stretch to at least the year 2045.
