The Caylloma deposit is located approximately 225km northwest of Arequipa, Peru. Mining is predominantly carried out by mechanised cut-and-fill operations, following this the ore is trucked to a conventional crushing, milling and flotation plant consisting of zinc, and lead-silver flotation circuits. In 2016, the processing plant was operating at around 1,430tpd ore, primarily being sourced from the silver-polymetallic Animas Vein. In 2016, work was ongoing to optimise the concentration process with the aim of increasing capacity to 1,500tpd. Fortuna Silver were expecting to process 535kta ore in 2017.
