Report summaryThe Caylloma deposit is located approximately 225km northwest of Arequipa, Peru. Mining is predominantly carried out by mechanised cut-and-fill operations, following this the ore is trucked to a conventional crushing, milling and flotation plant consisting of zinc, and lead-silver flotation circuits.
In 2014, the processing plant was operating at around 1,300tpd ore. Fortuna Silver forecast that they will increase production in 2016 processing approximately 503tpa ore, primarily sourced from the silver-polymetallic Animas Vein. Since March 2016, the mill has been operating at capacity of approximately 1,430tpd ore.
Concentrates are exported through the Callao Port located 1,460 km from the mine. Exporting through the Matarani port (which is closer) is more expensive.
