Report summary
Chengde Iron and Steel is a Hebei Iron and Steel (HBIS) Group subsidiary located in Chengde, Hebei province, China. The plant produces mainly long products, such as rebar and wire rod for construction. The plant also produces narrow strips and wide strips. Chengde Steel has developed a special technology to make steel from a high vanadium and titanium content ore, abundant in the Chengde region. The vanadium provides the steel with high tensile strength enabling Chengde to produce high-grade rebars.
