Çöpler is an open pit gold mine located along the Tethyan belt in east-central Turkey in the Erzincan Province, approximately 1,100 kilometers southeast of Istanbul and 550 kilometers east of Ankara. The mine contains oxide and sulfide ores which are mined and processed through its two processing plants using heap leach and pressure oxidation processing, respectively. Çöpler and nearby tenements are positioned on a land package of approximately 25,800 hectares. Production from the heap leach operation commenced in 2011. Beneath the oxide cap is a massive refractory sulfide ore resource. Alacer commenced work on a sulfide plant construction project to treat this ore. The plant was commissioned in November 2018, with commercial production achieved in May 2019.
