Report summary
The refinery is located at Ghatsila, Bihar, 175km west of Kolkata. It treats anodes from the adjacent Ghatsila smelter. The capacity of the refinery is 16.5kt from 198 cells, 13 of which are used for starting sheet production, at a current density of 194A/m2. An increase in capacity to 20kt from 2000 is presumably due to improvements in current efficiency and an increase in current density.
