Commodity Market Report
Global nickel long-term outlook Q4 2020
Report summary
Forecast global nickel demand has increased because of the sustained high stainless production rates in China and Indonesia. This should be maintained through the planned additions of new melting capacity in both countries. The ramp up of NPI production in Indonesia still leaves the current and mid-term nickel market in surplus, but the stronger demand outlook means a tighter market next year and an extension to this year's price rally.
