POSCO's Gwangyang plant is the world's largest integrated steel making operation. It was built in three phases from 1985 to 1992 and is now capable of producing 22 Mtpa of crude steel via the BOF route. The site also contains an EAF plant not covered in this analysis (see the Gwangyang (EAF) profile). The integrated steel plant produces hot and cold rolled coil, plate and API Steel. The plate produced at Gwangyang can be up to 5.3 metres wide.
