Report summary
Operated by Nornickel, the Harjavalta refinery is located in south western Finland. The refinery processes nickel matte from the integrated Monchegorsk refinery and third-party material from Boliden. In 2021 the plant had a capacity of 54.6kt nickel sulphate (12.0kt contained Ni) and produced 47.7kt nickel sulphate (10.5kt contained Ni). The plant has been producing nickel sulphate since 2002. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating several granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry-standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now.
