Hounde gold mine
Report summary
Houndé is a conventional open pit mine, located 250km southwest of Burkina Faso's capital Ouagadougou in West Africa. Ore is treated in a 3Mt/a carbon in leach (CIL) plant with an SABC milling circuit. The process involves crushing, grinding, agitated vat leaching followed by carbon-in-leach. Commercial production was declared in Q4 2017. In 2020, the mine produced 277koz of gold. As per the latest mine plan released by Endeavour, Houndé is expected to produce an average of over 210 kozpa, till 2031.
