Asset Report
Kihabe-Nxuu zinc mine project
Report summary
Kihabe-Nxuu are SEDEX deposit to be mined by conventional open pit method. The zinc oxides will be processed using tank acid leaching and electro-winning to produce Zn cathodes. The lead oxides and sulphides will be recovered through flotation and concentration to produce Pb and Zn concentrates for shipment to a smelter. An extension of the company's prospecting licence, which included Kihaba-Nxuu, was rejected in 2013. The company appealed the rejection decision in 2015 and in January 2016 a new Prospecting Licence was granted. Since, the company has updated Mineral Resources and continues to study the economics of by-products found within the deposits. Development of the project is uncertain and we have assumed an earliest possible start up date of 2028.
