Kunming zinc smelter
Report summary
The original Kunming zinc smelter had a capacity of 10kt/a and was commissioned in 1985. Work was started in 2000 to expand the zinc smelter to a nominal 50kt/a capacity The expansion finally commissioned in 2002. At the end of 2008, a new 100kt/a acid plant was commissioned at the zinc smelter site to treat the off-gases from the zinc smelter roasters. Wood Mackenzie’s asset reports are built from the bottom up, incorporating a number of granular data metrics to ultimately produce our industry standard cash operating costs. This report contains a detailed asset note giving you a holistic view of the asset, including an operational overview through to a timeline of events from inception to now. This qualitative analysis is supplemented by the associated Excel download which enables interrogation of a whole series of cost and production metrics over the life of the asset.
