Minera Florida, located 75km southwest of Santiago in central Chile, is an underground gold-silver mine with a ~900 kt/a processing plant comprised of conventional flotation, leaching and electrowinning process. The processing plant produces gold doré and zinc concentrate. The mine has been in operation for over 30 years and the longer-term objective is to increase production to 120koz ounces of gold per year. Yamana expects to make incremental processing plant improvements from the current level to 1.08 kt/a (90 kt/m) by 2024 and eventually to 1.2 kt/a (100 kt/m) from 2025 onwards, with a modest investment.
