The Musselwhite mine is operated as a fly-in / fly-out operation on the shore of Opapimiskan Lake, north-western Ontario. Ore is mined from four zones (T-Antiform, PQ Deeps, Moose and Esker). Production is expected to be reduced from the T-Antiform zone, with PQ Deeps and newly Discovered Lynx zones becoming more predominant. In 2015, a successful exploration campaign at PQ Deeps and Upper Lynx led to proven and probable reserves increasing to 1.72 Moz (from 1.66 Moz of gold in 2014) at end-2015. The mine had a conveyor fire in 2019 that effectively stopped production during the year. In 2020, the operation completed its Materials Handling Project and commissioned a new conveyor that achieved commercial production in December 2020. The site produced 100koz in 2020.
