Niihama, SMM - Nickel sulphate refinery
Report summary
Operated by Sumitomo Metal Mining (SMM), the Niihama plant is located in Ehime Prefecture, Japan. The plant produces nickel sulphate from feedstocks from integrated HPAL (high pressure acid leach) mines operated by SMM. The plant had a nickel sulphate capacity of 7.0kt (in contained Ni) in 2021 and produced 6.5kt (in contained Ni) in the same year.
