Otjikoto gold mine
Report summary
Otjikoto is an open pit operation that utilises conventional drill, blast, load and haul mining methods. The process plant comprises single stage crushing using a gyratory crusher, grinding in a SAG and ball mill, a gravity concentration circuit consisting of four Knelson concentrator units operated in parallel, a cyanide leach circuit and carbon in pulp (CIP) circuit. In December 2019, the development of the Wolfshag underground mine was approved at a cost of US$57 million. In 2020, gold production was 168koz.
