Pasar copper refinery
Report summary
The refinery is located at Isabel, Leyte Province, and has excellent sea links via the company's own port facilities. The plant together with associated smelter was commissioned in 1983 on a greenfield site. At commissioning the refinery capacity was 138kt/a cathode. In 1991 production was severely affected by a seven day strike in March, a fourteen day maintenance shutdown in May and a ten day outage in November following a loss of power caused by typhoon "Thelma".
