Vedanta Resources as of June 2008 owns 60% of Sterlite and 39% of Hindustan Zinc Ltd. (HZL). HZL owns and operates the Rampura Agucha, Rajpura Dariba and Zawar mines and the Chanderiya Electrolytic, Chanderiya ISF, Debari and Vishakhapatnam (Vizag) zinc smelters.
