Savage River iron ore mine

Report summary

Savage River is a small capacity mine in the north west of Tasmania, Australia. The pellet-producing operation commenced in 1967 and consists of a mine, concentrator, pipeline and pelletizing plant. Grange Resources acquired complete ownership of Savage River through its 2009 merger with Australian Bulk Minerals. The mine has experienced rock falls in the past and this remains a risk to its future production and costs.
