Asset Report
Savage River iron ore mine
Report summary
Savage River is a small capacity mine in the north west of Tasmania, Australia. The pellet-producing operation consists of a mine, concentrator, pipeline and pelletizing plant. Grange Resources acquired complete ownership of Savage River through its 2009 merger with Australian Bulk Minerals. While Grange has reported a large increase in reserves which doubles its mine life, accessing the additional reserves means development of Centre pit and potentially going underground at North Pit. EPA approval was received for the Centre Pit proposal, and Grange is currently undertaking a definitive feasibility study into North Pit development.
