Report summary
Shagang (EAF) is the largest ferrous scrap consumer in China. It has five electric arc furnaces with a crude steel capacity of 6 Mtpa. The EAF plant consumes an estimated 2 Mtpa of obsolete scrap. Its scrap sources are highly regionalized, base-oriented, and long-term agreement-based, primarily comprising East China regional scrap steel, self-owned processing bases and imported supplements.
