Asset Report
Sunrise Dam gold mine
Report summary
Sunrise Dam is an underground operation located in the northern goldfields of Western Australia, 220 kilometres north-east of Kalgoorlie and 55 kilometres south of Laverton. Mining is carried out by contractors using bulk mechanised sub-level open stoping methods with waste backfill. The mill feed is supplemented by stockpiles. Ore is processed in a conventional gravity and carbon-in-leach (CIL) processing plant. Part of the ore is refractory, and this has repressed recoveries over the life of the mine to around 85%. A Recovery Enhancement Project (REP) at Sunrise Dam was completed in 2018. The project was expected to increase the recovery rates by approximately 8% through the installation of new flotation and ultra-fine grinding circuits.
