Tarkwa gold mine
Report summary
Tarkwa is an open-pit operation with mining by contractors at four deposits. The processing plant comprises a gravity recovery circuit and a conventional carbon-in-leach (CIL) circuit that was expanded in 2014 to a capacity of 13.5Mt/a. This increased to 14.0Mt/a in 2020. An optimisation program is ongoing at the mine and mill to improve efficiency and reduce operating costs.
