Voisey's Bay copper mine
Report summary
The original Voisey's Bay discovery was made in 1993 by Archean Resources while conducting a regional diamond exploration programme for Diamond Fields. During 2013, Vale committed to the development of the underground mine at Voisey's Bay, although no capital cost estimate was provided. The integrated Long Harbour refinery was commissioned in December 2013, but initial feed will be matte from PT Vale with concentrate feed due to commence in 2015.
