Yauricocha zinc mine
Report summary
Yauricocha mine is located in the Alis district, Yauyos province, department of Lima. It is an underground polymetallic mine that utilises sublevel block caving and cut-and-fill mining methods, which has been in continuous commercial production since 1948. Ore is processed by conventional crushing-grinding-flotation, with a single crushing stage and two parallel circuits used to treat the different ore types. The polymetallic ore circuit had a nominal capacity of 2,100tpd and the oxide ore circuit has a nominal capacity of 600tpd. Sierra Metals reported in the 2016 Annual Report that the Chumpe processing plant was soon to be permitted to produce 3,000tpd.
