Saudi Arabia could boost its NGL production in a big way – here’s why
Report summary
Since the shale revolution, the US has been the top producer and exporter of natural gas liquids (NGLs) and is set to continue in the near future. When we look at other countries that have the potential to compete with the US, Saudi Arabia’s plans to boost NGL production make it a serious contender. Saudi Arabia is developing an unconventional shale play to increase its internal gas reserves and reduce external dependence. Jafurah unconventional shale play is very liquids-rich with a wet gas window similar to that of Eagle Ford. We estimate the full supply potential of Jafurah and its implications in this insight.
