Each quarter, Wood Mackenzie's team of US solar analysts highlights trends in US utility solar market dynamics, including the utility PV project pipeline, procurement trends, project developer rankings and landscape, policy and demand drivers across all 50 states, recent RFPs and PPA price trends and regional and state breakdowns. The analysis also includes a five-year forecast of utility solar. Data in the report is also reflected in the US utility solar state profiles on the solar Data Hub. Despite trade uncertainty and supply chain constraints, the US utility-scale PV segment continued its growing trend with 5.9 GW of capacity installed in Q4 2021, bringing total 2021 buildout to 17 GW. Total forecasted buildout is expected to reach 172 GW by 2027, if the climate provisions in the Build Back Better Act are passed later this year.
