Austria is a mature market for petroleum products, where we expect a gradual decline in demand for road transport fuel over the longer term . OMV operates the country's only crude oil refinery, Schwechat, and a significant chunk of the storage terminal market. In the retail fuel sector, market leader international companies have been rationalising their network for years, whereas rising independent players managed to grow their market share over the last ten years. However, the acquisition of independent Doppler Energie's network of more than 260 service stations by Polish national oil company Orlen somewhat bucks this decade-long trend.
