2018 Ghana research trip key takeaways
Report summary
In September 2018, Wood Mackenzie's upstream analysts travelled to Accra in Ghana. We met with E&P companies, service companies and government to discuss key themes and the latest developments. Ghana is experiencing a rapid transition period with gas production ramping up. An LNG regas terminal is planned as well, but is not deemed necessary for gas-to-power. What is required, however, are solutions to transport Ghana's own gas to where local power demand is highest. To solve this puzzle, several options are under consideration. These, and other key takeaways from our trip, are shown in this slidepack.
