Al Khalij is an offshore oil field located 140 kilometres northeast of Doha and 40 kilometres northeast of Halul Island. The field produces medium sour crude oil (27.5 oAPI) from Cretaceous carbonates. The oil is transported by pipeline to the terminal on Halul Island, where it is processed and mixed with production from several other offshore neighbouring fields.Al Khalij has been developed in several phases.
