Barataria (MC 521) is an oil field in the Mississippi Canyon protraction area of the Central Gulf of Mexico. The field was discovered by Deep Gulf Energy (22.5% and operator) in August 2015, and has been developed as a tieback, via South Santa Cruz, to the Blind Faith facility located approximately 19 kilometres (12 miles) from the field. Barataria reached first oil in June 2017.</div>
