The Barracuda Area is located in the south-central Campos basin, comprising the deepwater Barracuda oil field and the pre-salt Nautilus discovery. In 2016, ANP approved the Commitment to Individualize the Production (CIP) of both fields. In 2019, the ANP approved the extension of both Barracuda and Caratinga concession contracts until 2052. Petrobras has plans to revitalize Barracuda and Caratinga fields and in 2023 started a hiring process for a new FPSO. We expect this new vessel's first oil to occur by 2028. The fields are taxed under different ring fences, hence there are separate models for them.
