San Martin and Cashiriari are two large gas/condensate fields in Peru's Block 88, located in the Ucayali basin. Although the fields were discovered by Shell in the mid-1980s, development was delayed by close to 15 years due to their remote location and distance from potential markets.Initial development work began in early-2002, with commercial production beginning in June 2004 from San Martin and in July 2009 from Cashiriari. All gas and liquids are sold in the domestic market.
