Report summary
The Cañadón de la Escondida-Las Heras block is located in the southern San Jorge basin mature oil field. From 1999 to 2012, Repsol-YPF operated the block. The government expropriated the asset when YPF was nationalized in 2012.Crude production from the block is piped east to terminals on the Atlantic coast. Gas sales are minor and excluded from this analysis. As with most fields in the basin, infill drilling and water injection are important to slow production decline.
