Wood Mackenzie travelled to Brazzaville and Pointe-Noire on research between 28 August and 01 September 2017. We met with the key players of Congo’s oil and gas industry including Majors, independents, local E&P companies and the service sector; as well as the national oil company SNPC. We discussed the following topics. Production outlook: Can the recent output hike be sustained? Gas monetisation: Will the offtaking opportunities materialise? Investment: What is in the pipeline after Moho-Nord? Licensing round: Does the Deepwater remain attractive in a US$50/bbl environment? Exploration: Will new discoveries keep pace with produced volumes? SNPC: Can the national oil company become a fully-fledged operator?
