Europipe I runs 620 kilometres from the Draupner-E riser platform to a receiving terminal at Dornum in Germany. The gas is then transported via a 42-inch, 48-kilometre onshore pipeline to the metering station at Emden. It was the third major transmission system constructed to deliver Norwegian gas to continental Europe. Europipe I became part of Gassled in 2003, following the unitisation of the Norwegian gas export system. This analysis covers the historical development of Europipe I.
