Kosmos Energy to farm down in Mauritania and Senegal
Report summary
On its capital markets day this week, Kosmos Energy announced its intention to sell approximately 20% of its holdings in Senegal and Mauritania, intending to keep about 10%. These include the cross-border 10 mmtpa Tortue LNG asset, of which Phase 1 was sanctioned in December 2018 (with Phases 2 and 3 expected in 2020). Senegal's Yakaar Teranga field and Mauritania's BirAllah field are also sell-down candidates, but these are in a much earlier stage of development. The frontier gas assets are expected to attract lots of interest from potential buyers.
