Leon (KC 642)
Report summary
Leon (KC 642) is a large Lower Tertiary oil discovery in the Keathley Canyon protraction area of the Central Gulf of Mexico. The Leon discovery is Repsol's second operated discovery in the Lower Tertiary (the first being Buckskin in 2009). LLOG Exploration assumed operatorship over Leon in February 2019. The field lies 29 kilometres (18 miles) north of the LLOG-operated Castile (formerly Moccasin) field.
