The Los Perales-Las Mesetas block contains a number of oil fields in the western San Jorge basin. As with most fields in the basin, intensive infill drilling and water injection are crucial in managing production decline. Since 1997, the majority of gas not required for in-field use has been sold into the San Martín trunk line.
