Equinor and partners have announced first oil from the giant Johan Sverdrup field in the Norwegian North Sea. As Norway’s sixth largest discovery, it marks a red-letter day for the partners and the State. But there is another elephant in the room. Since Lundin Petroleum struck oil at Sverdrup nearly a decade ago, Norwegian exploration has fallen on hard times. What's next for Norway? Could Sverdrup be the last of the Norwegian giants?
