Q2 2022 pre-FID upstream project tracker: Guyana sanctions largest project yet
Report summary
Oil projects continue to be greenlit by companies in 2022. In all, over 11 bnboe has been approved for investment this year - over 90% of which is oil. Recent FIDs include deepwater developments - Leon and Castile - in the US Gulf of Mexico. Also of note is ExxonMobil proceeding with a fourth FPSO to develop the Yellowtail discovery at the prolific Stabroek block in Guyana. Nearly 38 more major projects are in the running to reach FID this year.
