Q3 2024 pre-FID project tracker: TotalEnergies sanctions $10 billion deepwater Suriname project

Report summary
Sixteen projects have received sanction in 2024 so far, representing around US$60 billion of committed investment and over 6 billion boe of reserves. TotalEnergies, together with its partner APA Corporation, has approved the US$10 billion GranMorgu project in Suriname. The deepwater FPSO project will be Suriname's first offshore development. While many projects have been delayed to 2025, look out for ADNOC to approve its offshore expansion plans later in the year.
