The upstream portfolios of the top 10 International Oil Companies in South-Eastern Asia account for US$84 billion, equivalent to 43% of the region's remaining present value.  Historical legacy positions, long-term LNG export projects and cooperation with regional National Oil Companies have been the key drivers in the growth of these portfolios.  However, future project returns are under pressure from higher development costs, challenging fiscal terms and regulatory uncertainty.
