South Hood (Block 47)
Report summary
The South Hood Block is located primarily on the South Hadhramout Arch, which forms the southern boundary to the Say'un-Al Masila Basin. After initial work, which defined a drillable prospect, an 18-month extension to the first exploration period was granted. In September 2001, PanCanadian (now EnCana) farmed into the block and became operator. 400 km of 2D seismic was recorded in Q1-Q2 2002 and a subsequent extension of the licence granted to July 2004.
