Report summary
Independent Ghanaian explorer Springfield E&P has discovered oil with its deepwater Afina-1x well. The well, drilled by the Stena Forth Drillship, could be a landmark moment for both Springfield and Ghana. However, whilst generating a new wave of exploration interest in what is an already well established hydrocarbon basin, caution should be exercised given the relatively unknown scale of the discovery.
