The Tampico-Misantla basin was one of the most important oil provinces in Mexico in the early 1900s. Currently, it is a low priority for Pemex. Located in coastal east-central Mexico, the business unit has 77 onstream fields. This analysis covers fields in Mexico's Tampico-Misantla basin except Chicontepec and Lankahuasa, which are covered in separate analyses.
