Weser-Ems covers the north-western area of the German state of Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen). It borders the Netherlands in the northwest, the North Sea in the north, and is enclosed between the rivers Weser and Ems. It is primarily a gas-producing region. Its top producing gas fields are Goldenstedt, Siedenburg and Visbek, which are operated by ExxonMobil. The top producing oil field in the region is Neptune Energy's Bramberge.
