West East Gas Pipeline II
Report summary
The 4,978 kilometre trunkline of West-East Gas Pipeline II (WEP II) runs from Horgos (or Huoerguosi), the endpoint of the Central Asia-China Gas Pipelines A and B at China's border with Kazakhstan, to Guangzhou in Guangdong province. Another eight branchlines of 3,726 kilometres connect the trunkline to 15 provinces across China.Work on the 2,461 kilometre western segment (from Horgos to Zhongwei, in Ningxia province) started in February 2008 and was finished in December 2009.
