The Achimov Formation is one of West Siberia's most challenging producing horizons, characterised by thin, sandstone reservoirs which vary widely in thickness and quality. It has already produced over one billion barrels of oil and 1.4 tcf of gas, and has the potential for far higher volumes in the future.
