What is the impact of the Israel-Hamas war on the region's gas sector?
Report summary
The Israel-Hamas war continues to have a devastating impact with a tragic human cost. The war has also impacted the region’s gas sector, with production at the Chevron-operated Tamar field temporarily suspended in early October, before restarting a month later. The impact of the outage led to a shuffling of gas flows in Israel as it prioritised its domestic market. Flows to Jordan mostly continued, but exports to Egypt dropped drastically, exacerbating gas shortages there.
