Zama
Report summary
Zama was Mexico's first non-Pemex discovery in nearly 80 years. The field was found in July 2017 and represents one of the largest shallow water discoveries made globally in the last 20 years. Talos did appraisal work on its side of the field, though initially further appraisal was required by Pemex, a planned well Asab-1 was finally cancelled in 2021 with the argument that additional drilling would come after the unitisation.
