President Trump has put the reconstruction of Venezuela’s energy sector at the heart of his plans for the future of the country. He hopes to encourage more than $100 billion in investment from US and other international companies, to restore Venezuela’s shattered oil infrastructure and revive its production. But the oil Majors are wary of committing more capital to a country where they have  lost billions of dollars in the past, and several still have outstanding debts.
